We review specific reports carefully and act on the parts of the service we operate.

Contact

Send copyright, safety and other abuse reports to [email protected]. Report software vulnerabilities privately to [email protected]; see Report a security issue. Please don't send passwords, access tokens, private keys, complete diagnostic archives or unrelated personal information.

What to include

  • The affected Portico account, invitation, hostname, URL, server or other part of the service, identified as precisely as you can
  • A description of the activity, and why you believe it's unlawful, unsafe or against the Portico Terms
  • Your name and a reliable way to contact you
  • Any supporting evidence you're authorized to provide

For a copyright report, also include:

  • the protected work
  • the specific material or activity at issue, and where it can be found
  • your relationship to the rightsholder
  • a good-faith basis for the report
  • a statement that the information is accurate
  • your typed or electronic signature

We may ask for more information required by applicable law before we act.

What happens next

We review sufficiently specific reports in good faith. We consider the nature of the concern, the information available to Portico, the rights of the people affected, and the role Portico actually plays. We may acknowledge the report, ask for clarification, notify the relevant account or server operator, preserve appropriate records, or refer the matter to a provider in a better position to deal with it.

Where justified, Portico may limit or end hosted account, discovery, invitation, membership, device or routing services connected to the reported activity. Repeated or egregious violations may result in loss of access to Portico-hosted services.

What Portico can and cannot access

Portico Services coordinate accounts and direct connections. They don't host, relay, cache, inspect or monitor media. Media, library information and streaming activity stay on an independently operated Portico Server, and travel directly between that server and its authorized clients. So Portico can't search a private library, inspect a stream, or remove a file it doesn't possess.

A report about media stored or transmitted by an independently operated server may need to go to that server's operator or network provider. Portico will still review whether its own hosted services are being misused.

Corrections and disputes

If you believe a report or action involving you was a mistake, reply to the notice or email [email protected]. Identify the report or action, explain the correction, and include information that supports your position. We'll review a good-faith response and restore or adjust hosted access when appropriate.

Urgent safety concerns

If someone is in immediate danger, contact local emergency services first. Law-enforcement and other lawful requests may also be sent to [email protected], with official contact information and the applicable legal authority.

Privacy

We use report information to investigate, respond, keep the service secure and meet legal obligations. When reasonably necessary, we may share it with the affected account or server operator, relevant providers, advisers or authorities, subject to law and safety considerations. See our Privacy Policy for more information.
