Recording needs permission for your account or profile, a working channel source, matching guide listings and recording storage. Open Channels → Recordings to manage DVR recordings in Upcoming, Recorded, Series rules, History and Storage.

Record a showing

  1. Open the program in the Live TV guide.
  2. Select Record, review Start early and End late, then confirm Record.
  3. Check the entry under Channels → Recordings → Upcoming.

Record a series

Select Record series… when guide data identifies the program as part of a series. Choose new episodes or all episodes, this channel or any channel, and how many episodes to keep. Review Start early and End late so the recording covers the program without creating unnecessary overlaps.

You can review series rules under Channels → Recordings → Series rules. Changing or disabling a rule affects its upcoming recordings; check the resulting schedule.

Recording defaults

The owner configures Settings → Server → Live TV & Channels → Recording. Defaults include start and end padding, keeping all recordings or a set count or number of days, and the policy for a recording that needs a tuner someone is watching. Portico keeps recordings as the original captured stream.

Check the result

Portico checks the schedule against source capacity and other recordings. A scheduled entry isn’t a finished recording. Check its state when the program starts and use Resolve recording conflicts if it can’t run.

Completed and playable recordings appear under Channels → Recordings → Recorded and in the recording library available to their owner. Watch progress works as it does for other media. A partially captured program can be playable while still marked incomplete.
