Open the player’s track controls to see the audio and subtitle streams available for the current item. Choose the track you want while playback is open.
Some subtitles are stored inside the media file. Others are separate files beside it. Server owners can also configure supported metadata and subtitle sources.
Personal defaults
Use Profile and Settings to choose preferred audio and subtitle languages. A preference helps Portico make an initial selection; it does not create a track that the media does not contain.
Subtitles that must be drawn into the picture can require video transcoding. If playback changes quality or the server begins transcoding after subtitles are enabled, try another available subtitle format or ask the server owner to review the playback decision.
