A Portico Account identifies a person. A Portico Server holds a media library and decides what that person is allowed to see or do on that server.
One account can belong to more than one server. Access on one server does not automatically grant access anywhere else.
Server owner
The owner controls the server, its libraries, people, remote access, maintenance, and administrative settings. Keep owner access limited and use a normal viewer account for everyday watching when practical.
Viewer
A viewer can browse and play the libraries assigned to their account. Their progress, Saved items, history, ratings, and preferences remain separate from everyone else’s.
Administrator
An owner may grant another trusted person administrative permissions. Administrative access should match the work that person needs to perform; it should not be used as a shortcut around library permissions.
