Portico works best when each library points to folders containing one kind of media. Keep Movies, TV Shows, Music, Anime, Audiobooks, and Recordings separate.

Use stable paths

Move or rename folders before adding them to Portico. A library path should remain available after the server restarts and should not depend on an interactive login.

Keep unrelated files out

Do not point a library at a general downloads folder. Sample files, incomplete transfers, disk images, and unrelated documents make scanning slower and matching less reliable.

Check permissions

The Portico service account needs read access to every folder in the path. If the media is on network storage, test access from the service context rather than only from your desktop account.
